Three floors of one building, twenty years in one place.
GS Eye Center occupies floors 8, 15 and 16 of Mijin Plaza, directly at Gangnam Station Exit 1 in Seoul. The 16th floor is the SMILE LASIK clinic and exam center, the 15th floor holds the operating suites, and the 8th floor is the retina and cataract clinic with its own inpatient room.
Which floor will I visit?
Your first stop depends on what you are coming for. Vision correction starts at the 16F exam center; retina and cataract care starts on 8F.
| Floor | Clinic | What is there |
|---|---|---|
| 16F | SMILE LASIK Clinic | Exam center lobby, reception, waiting lounges, exam rooms 1–2, consultation room, treatment waiting area, doctor's office, IPL room |
| 15F | Surgical Clinic | The clinic's combined surgical floor |
| 8F | Retina · Cataract Clinic | GS EYE CENTER lobby, inpatient room, reception, payment desk, three waiting areas, exam rooms 1–2, doctor's office, consultation room |
What does the 16th floor look like?
The 16th floor holds the exam center where vision-correction candidates are screened, plus consultation rooms, doctors' offices and the IPL room for dry-eye treatment.

What is on the 8th floor?
The 8th floor is the retina and cataract clinic: its own lobby, reception and payment desks, three waiting areas, two exam rooms, a doctor's office and a consultation room. It also holds an inpatient room, so retina surgery patients can be admitted, operated on and discharged the same day.
And the 15th floor?
The 15th floor is the clinic's combined surgical floor. Over the years GS has built dedicated operating rooms for specific procedures — a SMILE LASIK operating room (2019), a SMILE Pro operating room (2023) and a SILK operating room (2025) — alongside the six-part clean system that runs across the clinic.
Why does the address matter?
The clinic opened in 2005 and has expanded within the same building ever since: the 16F expansion in 2018, the enlarged surgical center in 2019 and the exam center expansion in 2020. For a visiting patient, that means exams, surgery and follow-ups all happen at one address next to a major subway station.
Visiting the clinic
Take the elevator inside Mijin Plaza at Gangnam Station Exit 1. For vision correction (SMILE, LASIK, ICL screening), start at the 16F exam center. For retina or cataract care, go to the 8F clinic. If you booked through our international team, your coordinator will confirm the floor in advance.
Yes. Every photo on this page comes from the clinic's official Korean website, which hosts photo tours of the same spaces. Nothing here is a stock image or rendering.
Yes, on the 8th floor. It exists so retina surgery patients can handle admission, surgery and discharge within a single day rather than staying overnight at a hospital.
Your examination visit is exactly that: you spend around two hours in the 16F exam center before any surgical decision is made, and you meet your surgeon in person. Start with a free online consultation to plan the visit around your travel dates.
