GS Eye Center runs a six-part safety infrastructure: air cleaning, instrument sterilization, backup power, ventilation, constant climate control and the overall GS safety protocol that ties them together. What keeps the surgical environment safe?
Air purifiers throughout the clinic
Air cleaners are installed across the clinic's spaces to remove dust, bacteria and odors from the indoor air on every floor.
E.O gas sterilization of every instrument
After washing and cleaning, all instruments pass through an Ethylene Oxide gas sterilizer for disinfection and sterilization, blocking infection and contamination at the tool level.
Hospital-grade autoclave + STATIM
A high-pressure steam autoclave of the size used at tertiary hospitals disinfects instruments before and after surgery at high temperature and pressure. A cassette-type STATIM sterilizer treats operating-room tools at 135 degrees for 30 seconds, followed by an hour of drying.
Self-generation and uninterruptible power
A self-generation system plus an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) covers sudden outages and emergencies — the laser does not depend on the city grid staying up mid-procedure.
Filtered outside air in, contaminated air out
A fine-dust ventilation system purifies incoming outside air and expels contaminated indoor air, keeping the air actually circulating rather than just filtered in place.
Surgical temperature and humidity, 365 days
Precision climate units run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to hold the temperature and humidity ranges surgery requires — stable conditions for both the lasers and the patients.
One room per procedure family
The clean systems run across purpose-built surgical spaces: a SMILE LASIK operating room built in 2019, a SMILE Pro operating room built in 2023 and a SILK operating room built in 2025 — plus an inpatient room on the 8th floor so retina patients can be admitted, treated and discharged the same day. ISO-certified quality and environment
The clinic obtained ISO 9001 (medical quality) and ISO 14001 (medical environment) certification in 2017, and its SMILE LASIK program earned ISO 9001/14001 international-standard certification in 2020 — external audits layered on top of the daily systems above.
